STEPPING INTO MY HIGH PLACES

Habakkuk 3:17-19, “Although the fig tree shall not blossom… he will make me to walk upon mine high places.” Your place in life is high; your place in life is not low. “...Upon my high places”. That convinces me that I have a high place; I am not designed for a low place. “...My high place.” There is a high place for you, please change your mentality. Your true measure in life is not now; your true measure in life is in your future. Your life is future measured not now determined. Verse 17, shows us the now, while verse 19 shows us the future. Verse 17 says the fig tree is not blossoming, ‘what am I bothering myself for?’ No meat, no flock; ‘nothing is working.’ God says take your eyes away from verse 17 look at verse 19. There is a high place for you. Verse 18 is the link between 17 and 19 not just verse by verse arrangement but graphically and revelationary. Verse 18 is the revelation that links 17 to 19, ‘…Yet I will rejoice in the Lord...’ I know something exists around me now, some circumstances that I don’t like but I will use verse 18 to link me to my next phase of life, riding upon my high places. Talking about Jesus in Hebrews 12: 2, “... who for the joy that was set before Him...” I will rejoice in the Lord, not in things. You must define where your joy is. If your joy is linked to things, you will never have it but if your joy is linked to God you outlive things, you outlive circumstances. That is why those who are happy because of money soon lose their happiness when the money is no more there. Those who are happy because of car will soon lose their happiness when the car engine knocks; he loses his joy too. Those who are happy because of position soon become sorrowful when their position is taken from them. There are people whose countenances drop when they hear that they are posted or when they hear that there’s a little change in their assignment, why? He’s linked to things; he is tied to things instead of being linked with God. There is a high place waiting for you, you will get there! “...Yet I will rejoice in the God of my salvation... Joy is not automatic. Joy is borne when revelation is caught. Joy is borne when you are conceived with revelation. It is the pregnancy of the Word that burst forth in joy. There is a high place waiting for you, you can’t jump there. That’s why it says “I will walk...” It’s a conscious thing; you walk into your high places. And what gets you there is joy and joy is not automatic, it’s borne. And how is it borne? Revelation! Thy Word have I found and when I ate it, it became joy and rejoicing of my soul ... (Jeremiah 15:16). That enables me to see beyond my circumstance. When you see the Word you become free from sorrow. Contact with the Word is detachment from sorrow. You naturally detach from sorrow when you contact the Word. If I see you living in sorrow it’s only because you have not caught a Word because the Word shows you your future and when you see your future you have joy. When you have joy sorrow won’t hold you down again. I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil. (Psalm 119:162). I rejoice at your Word as he that has found a great spoil. People don’t know what I have found; they wonder why I am smiling. Finding the Word is finding life. Finding the Word is finding your future. What you find is what stimulates your joy. Remember joy becomes natural when you conceive the Word. For a man of revelation, joy is natural. A man of revelation does not need an appeal to be happy. If you want a man to live in permanent joy show him the Word, show him the way to the Word. I rejoice at your Word as he that has found a great spoil. Your high place begins at the deep places of the Word. Depth begets height. Root begets fruit. Foundation begets skyscrapers. My walk in the high places begins with my walk in the Word of God. I cannot go higher in life than my depth in the Word. The journey upward begins downward. Thou shall take root downward and bear fruit upward. The journey upward begins downward. Downward! If what you are looking for is not flamboyancy, not deception, if what you are looking for is not temporal; please take your time and go deep. No devil can push you anyhow when you are deep in the Word. So the Word will bring you joy and joy will give you strength (Nehemiah 8:10) and strength will make you walk. The joy of the Lord which I have discovered will give me strength and when you become strong what happens? Walk! It takes strength to walk upon high places. Many people have dreams for high places but don’t have strength for it. You need strength, that’s why it says, ‘the Lord shall be my strength that will make me walk upon my high places.’ You need strength to climb up, inner strength. He keeps on wishing and tends to analysis everything before making his decisions. And you know it is analysis that leads to paralyses. You know what makes me move the way I move? Revelation, that provokes joy. Go for it and very soon your world will come after you as you begin to walk in your high places. I see you walking in your high places before the close of this month in Jesus name. Shalom!
