Life is naturally full of all manner of ups and downs, and as result, many are down-cast, defeated and disfigured in their appearance. But as a covenant child of God, you have the responsibility to put a smile on the face of the people you meet on your way!
Jesus said we are the salt and the light of the world, that means you and I have a role to play in the lives of the people God brings across our ways in life! To ‘salten’ up their lives and ‘lighten’ up their lives. (Matthew 5: 13-14)
Joseph was a perfect example, he was thrown into prison for an offense he never committed yet he maintained his usefulness. When two (2) servants to the king were thrown into the same prison, one morning he came to check on them as usual and when he saw how sad they looked, he knew he had an assignment to carry out. Instantly, he went into action and eventually he put a smile back on the face of the butler. Little did he know that, that seed of a smile planted in the life of the butler will yield a harvest of a throne for him. (Genesis 40 & 41)
Friends, it is the people you help that links you up to the God that you need His help! Help someone today, put a smile on the face of someone today and see God put a lasting smile on your face too.
Plant a smile at least on the face of every one you meet this week and see yourself reaping the harvest of smiles all through this week! You will smile; the Lord will make you to smile! Shalom!
